Abstract

Counting on the hosting of the National University Timor Lorosa'e, the XXVI meeting of the AULP was historic. For the first time in 30 years of activity
associative, the association met in Timorese lands, revealing to be a unique opportunity to reaffirm the Portuguese language in a country that committed itself to boost the promotion of the Portuguese language through the initial and continuous training of teachers and also by expanding the teaching of the language to private schools . At the suggestion of the National University of Timor Lorosa'e, the agenda of the meeting, which took place on 29, 30 June and 1 July, addressed several aspects around the theme “Sign routes: academic mobility and globalization in the CPLP and Macau space”. As is often the case, this topic was subsequently distributed in several sessions that resulted in communications with different themes. In some of these communications, the study of signs that tell the history of Timor-Leste was patent; other interventions will reflect policies and strategies for enabling academic mobility in Portuguese-speaking countries. Finally, some speakers saw the occasion as an opportunity to publicize current projects that could serve as an example for future initiatives or even encourage inter-university partnerships.
